Wikipedia: Gothenburg is the second-largest city in Sweden and the fifth-largest amongst the Nordic countries. Situated on the south-west coast of Sweden, the city proper has a population of 507,330 with 510,491 in the urban area and total of 917,984 inhabitants in the metropolitan area. The City of Gothenburg was founded in 1621 by King Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden.
