Wikipedia: Fort Moore was a historic fort in Los Angeles, California, during the Mexican-American War. Its location gave name to Fort Moore Hill, which is located between the modern downtown Los Angeles neighborhoods of Bunker Hill and Chinatown. It is now memorialized by the Fort Moore Pioneer Memorial.
