Wikipedia: The Basque Country is an Autonomous Community of northern Spain. The Basque Country was granted the status of historical region within Spain with the Spanish Constitution of 1978. The capital is Vitoria-Gasteiz (Vitoria is the name in Spanish, Gasteiz in Basque) and Bilbao its largest city.
