Wikipedia: Daxing District is a suburb of Beijing, situated to the south of the city. Daxing District was upgraded from a county to a district with the approval from the State Council on April 30, 2001. Covering an area of 1,012 square kilometers, Daxing District is divided into nine towns and 18 townships with a population of 671,444.
