Wikipedia: Votkinsk (Russian: Во́ткинск; Udmurt: Вотка, Votka) is an industrial town in the Republic of Udmurtia, Russia, located about 1,000 kilometers (621 mi) ENE of Moscow. Population: 99,441 (2002 Census); 103,509 (1989 Census). It was the birthplace (7 May, 1840) of the composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky who spent the first eight years of his life here: today the house of his birth contains a museum dedicated to the composer.
