Wikipedia: Parkano is a town and municipality in Finland. It is located 84 kilometres (52 mi) north of Tampere in the province of Western Finland, and is part of the Pirkanmaa region. The population of Parkano is 7,073 (December 31, 2009) and the municipality covers an area of 852.27 km (329.06 sq mi) of which 57.49 km (22.20 sq mi) is inland water (January 1, 2009).
