Wikipedia: Zviad Gamsakhurdia (Georgian: ზვიად გამსახურდია, was a dissident, scientist and writer, who became the first democratically elected President of the Republic of Georgia in the post-Soviet era. Gamsakhurdia is the only Georgian President to have died whilst formally in office.
