Wikipedia: László József Bíró (September 29, 1899 – October 24, 1985) was the inventor of the modern ballpoint pen. Bíró was born in Budapest, Austria-Hungary in 1899. He presented the first production of the ball pen at the Budapest International Fair in 1931.
