Wikipedia: Mount Scopus (Hebrew הַר הַצּוֹפִים, Arabic جبل المشارف Ǧabal al-Mašārif, جبل المشهد Ǧabal al-Mašhad, جبل الصوانة) (meaning Lit. Mount "Look Out") is a mountain in northeast Jerusalem, Israel. Overlooking Jerusalem, Mount Scopus has been strategically important as a base from which to attack the city since antiquity.
