Wikipedia: João Paulo II Airport, named for Pope John Paul II, is an airport located on the island of São Miguel, less than 3 km west of the city of Ponta Delgada on the Azores in Portugal. In terms of traffic, this airport is the busiest in the Azores and the fourth largest infrastructure managed by ANA Aeroportos de Portugal. The new terminal was built in 1995 and in 2005 the airport served a total of 873,500 passengers.
