Wikipedia: Nizhnekamsk is a city in the Republic of Tatarstan. The city was founded in 1961 as Nizhnekamsky work settlement. In connection with the building of the Nizhnekamskneftekhim petrochemical industrial complex, Nizhnekamsk was granted city status in 1966.
