Wikipedia: Wimbledon is a suburb in south west London, part of the London Borough of Merton and located 7 miles (11.3 km) from Charing Cross. The area is identified in the London Plan as one of 35 major centres in Greater London. For most of the past one hundred years, Wimbledon has been internationally known as the home of the Wimbledon Tennis Championships.
