Wikipedia: Kumkapı (meaning 'sand gate' in Turkish) is part of the Eminönü district of Istanbul. It is located along the Marmara Sea. Up to recent times, Kumkapı was mostly inhabited by Armenians, who still have a community school and several churches there.
