Wikipedia: Farringdon Within is a ward in the City of London, England. The ward covers an area from Blackfriars, in the south, to St Bartholomew's Hospital, in the north. Originally known as the Ward of Anketill de Auvergne, Farringdon was named for Sir Nicholas Farindon, who was appointed Lord Mayor for as long as it shall please him by Edward II.
