Wikipedia: Cerro Azul ("blue hill" in Spanish) is an active stratovolcano in central Chile's Maule Region, immediately south of the Descabezado Grande volcano and part of the South Volcanic Zone. Capped by a summit crater that is 500-meter (1,600 ft) wide and opens to the north, the lower slopes have numerous scoria cones and flank vents. Azul has produced the largest eruptions ever in South America, once in 1846 and again in 1932.
