Wikipedia: The Bundesanstalt Technisches Hilfswerk (Federal Agency for Technical Relief, THW) is a disaster relief organisation controlled by the German federal government. 99% of its members are volunteers. The tasks of the THW are described in a law called THW-Gesetz.
