Wikipedia: An Italian Brazilian is a Brazilian citizen of full or partial Italian ancestry. The Italian government claims there are 25 million Brazilians of Italian descent, which would be the largest population of Italian background outside of Italy itself. This figure has been criticised by demographer Miguel Ángel García, who calculates the population of Italian descent in Brazil to be about 15 to 18 million people, of which some 1.5 million can be actually called "Italian Brazilian".
