Wikipedia: The Pontian Greeks are an ethnic group consisting of Greeks from the shores of the Black Sea and Pontus. They traditionally speak Pontic, a distinct form of the Greek language which, due to the remoteness of Pontus, has had a process of linguistic evolution different from that of the rest of the Greek world.
