Wikipedia: Yerida is the somewhat derogatory term, widely used to mean emigration by Israeli Jews from the State of Israel. In rare cases, it may refer to pre-independence emigration of Jews from the Land of Israel. The opposite action, immigration by Jews to Israel, is called Aliyah ("ascent").
