Wikipedia: Metrolink is a commuter rail system that serves Southern California. It was established in 1991 as the Southern California Regional Rail Authority (SCRRA) and service began the following year. From 1990 to 1993, the SCRRA member agencies acquired track and other property in fee title, easement, or through operating rights from the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway, Southern Pacific Railroad (now Union Pacific Railroad) and Union Pacific Railroad.
