Wikipedia: National University of Ireland, Maynooth, was founded in 1997 by the Universities Act, 1997 as a constituent university of the National University of Ireland. It is Ireland's second oldest university institution, tracing its origins back to the foundation in 1795 of St Patrick's College, Maynooth. The University is located in the rural town of Maynooth, Co. Kildare, Ireland, 20 km west of Dublin.
